MADDEN 15

This is going to be out within a month.. I have not seen many videos nor gameplay footage of the new madden. Only a few clips here and there, and I wasn't blown away, it looked to be the same as Madden 25.

I'll most likely still get it, whats everyone's thoughts on the game and what would you like to see EA do?

The last madden I really liked was 12, it went downhill from there. 13 was lackluster, 25 was decent on PS3(only got it for the NCAA rosters for franchise) and 25 on PS4 is alright, though nowhere close to the presentation of 2K5 which is really sad.

I hope this is a good year for Madden gameplay/presentation wise but I doubt it.

So Poe is not in the Top 5.

Unfortunately. I'm excited for the season is why I'll probably be doing it. Just wish they'd go back to the traditional franchise mode and update it.

What do you think about the new speed rating overhaul? Jamaal is down to a 92, Marshawn Lynch to an 85. Looking at the top 5 CBs, not a single one had a speed rating above 90.

Also, the new "aggressive catch" mechanics and all that?

He's not in the top 6, technically. The 5th and 6th rated DTs in this season's game were rated 92 overall. So Poe could still be high 80s-low 90s.

Our defense has all the pieces to be a dominant unit this season. Berry doesn't have cancer in the game so I'll probably roll with him at SS. Probably run with Ron Parker at FS but move him into the slot a lot in nickel and dime packages, depending on how they rate Peters/Gaines/Nelson.

From what I can gather, the game is a big improvement over last years. They continue to chip away and fine tune line play, game & tackling physics. This year I heard the DB/WR interactions are very well done. They did overhaul speed ratings, but Jamaal should still be one of the top, especially acceleration. I know he has the best catching & route running for a RB in the game.

The aggressive catch feature is tough to defend on 1v1 deep balls, but I've heard if you use the swat/strip button instead of catch/ballhawk, they will get a hand on it or knock it loose. I am concerned about the running game. I heard its not very forgiving if you cant read blocks.

He should. Of all the ratings I've seen thus far, 92 speed is the highest.

That's good to hear about the swatting and not reading blocks, IMO. I used to be a master at going for the swat on one of the older Madden games (probably 05 or so when they had the skills training mini-camps in the offseason). In the last few installments, that maneuver has definitely fallen by the wayside, but realistically sometimes it makes way more sense not to go for the INT.

Hopefully they tweaked the running game to prevent guys from bouncing it outside on literally every run play. That shit gets old so ****ing fast.

Been putzing with madden 15. It's trade system is completely broken. My defense right now has Jj Watt, marcel Dareus, and Justin Houston. I'm using the Browns. I still have Joe Haden tashun Gipson and donte Whitner. I gave the Chiefs Justin Gilbert, a first, and d tackle Phil Taylor for Justin Houston. Insane!

Home, why don't you get involved in the Madden 08 pc community? It's very active and there are online leagues with 80's/90's teams. I plan on buying it today. My buddy is playing in an online league with 96 rosters.

I'm glad the PC community is keeping ps2 style Madden alive. It's by far the best engine in any football game, 2k games included.

I'm still playing 15. Mostly, it's a game or two on Saturday or Sunday mornings.

Looking at some gameplay footage of 16, it appears that they made a couple of improvements that I complained about.

In 15, throwing downfield to a WR with one defender on him was pretty much always a big gamble because my WR would never stop and jump up for the ball. Yeah, I know I could take control but I've never been good at that. Watching footage of 16 it appears that WRs are more aware and actually slow or stop to jump up for it rather than continue running like they did in 15.

The other thing I noticed was that the screen pass seems to work in 16. I used to use RB screens several times a game. But in 15 I rarely use it because the defenders get to the QB way too fast and it usually ends in a sack.

I did notice one glitch that hasn't been fixed. The QB gets hit by a defender but is able to shake it off but now he just stands there waiting for another defender to sack him.

I wish they would add stadium effects to games. Like if KC or Seattle is winning the crowd gets going and affects QBs like in old NCAA games back in the day. I liked that
