Davis/Charles situation starting to feel like Johnson/Holmes circa 2004
Priest Holmes was a certified Chiefs legend when he signed a four-year contract extension with the Chiefs in 2003. He looked great in 2004, but suffered an injury that allowed 2nd year RB Larry Johnson to get an extended look at RB1. Johnson, of course, looked incredible. Even though our love for Priest Holmes was undying, people seemed to forget about him pretty quickly. Even when Holmes came back, people were clamoring for some more Larry Johnson.

I'm starting to feel like that exact scenario is playing out once again. Jamaal Charles (a legend in his own right) just signed a contract extension, but his injuries in the playoff game last season and the game against Denver yesterday have given us a pretty good look at Knile Davis. And, I like what I see.

I think that Jamaal still has quite a bit left in the tank, but I don't think it will be long before people are clamoring for a little bit less Jamaal Charles and a little bit more Knile Davis.

No, it doesn't feel that way to me. Charles is dinged up, but his career isn't on the line like Priest's was.

Davis isn't anywhere near as explosive as Charles and he dances around the backfield too much. There were a number of runs i saw yesterday and thought to myself, "Damn, Charles woulda busted that thing wide open".

I think we need to decrease charles workload and play Knile more. He can be like Thomas jones, except good. Throw in some DAT

I'd like the Chiefs to use DAT somewhat like Seattle uses Harvin and NO uses Cooks - fly sweeps, end arounds and the quick flip to the outside.

I love Davis' talent.

But if people think Charles can't handle a lot of carries putting in Davis full time is an even worse idea. Davis battled injuries his whole college career and after starting 2 games (Charles was injured right off the bat. Might as well call it two games) was injured yet again...

Davis is even worse.

And the HB situation is the LEAST of our problems. We don't run the ****ing ball that much anyway.

We do have to block every play and we don't have 1/2 the people we need to do that right.

Our secondary played out of their minds vs. a division rival yesterday but it's even less talented than the one that allowed Locker to look like Manning...
