I want B. Chubb but that'd be awfully hard to make happen.

Yep, those should be focused BPAs. I'm most concerned about FS with only McQuay in the roster now. I'm still not sold that Ford can A) make an impact or B) last the entire season or C) both, so that's another big need in my book. The last thing we need is another RB. and we should be able to find #3-6 WRs from the million or so we already have under contract.

Is there a draft party at Arrowhead this year? Seems kind of silly for a 2nd and 3rd round, but I guess if that's all we have, go for it. Or maybe PMII could just show up for the 1st night.

Unless there’s just a player too good to pass up(which probably won’t be the case), position of need. But we have a lot of needs, so it shouldn’t be hard to draft for need.

A bit of oddball history involving Bruce Jenner, Kansas City and the notion of drafting the best available athlete...
http://nbahoopsonline.com/teams/Sacr...uceJenner.html

Here's a AP wire news story on the draft pick:

https://www.newspapers.com/newspage/118466610/
Quote:
Originally Posted by AP, appeared June 11, 1977 in Arizona Republic newspaper
Joe Axelson decided that if the Kansas City Kings wanted the best athlete available, they might as well take the very best "It was just kind of tongue-in-cheek," Axelson, president of the Kings, said Friday night after Kansas City selected 1976 Olympic decathlon champion Bruce Jenner in the seventh round of the National Basketball Association draft "It was just kidding the people who always say they take the best athlete available," Axelson said. "People are always taking their 49th pick and saying they went after the best available athlete. We decided we might as well take the best athlete, too." . Jenner was unavailable for comment on the Kings' whimsical selection. Kansas City, which had acknowledged it wanted backcourt help, selected Jenner as a guard.
For the younger crowd, part of the gag here is that it has been traditional to call the Olympic Gold Medalist in the Decathlon the "world's greatest athlete" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Decathlon), and Bruce Jenner had just won that title the year before.
