Off Season Lets Talk Guns
Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.
Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon? Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware? Part 2: http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showthread.php?t=293623 Last edited by Bearcat; 07-28-2015 at 06:06 PM.. |

Jack London would have loved that story.
Best part was the end. She bought the horse

Shot the AR for the first time today. It took a little longer than it should have to sight it in with the red dot sight. It's still not set right. I don't think it's a very good red dot sight. My wife had probably 1/4" groupings on the iron sight from 25 yards.
I might be able to get my hands on a leopold sight for it discounted from a friend of a friend. |

I hunted with an outfitter in Wyoming who had a matched pair like that,Black and Decker. Easy ridin, smooth and surefooted in the high country south of Jackson.

That would be a hard shot to make with that much movement. Have you ever seen a dog shake a big towel? You would have to run up at nearly point blank and make the bear to drop the guy, stop shaking him, or be close enough to piss on the bear, for a sure shot. When you do that, you better not miss. You also better be yelling your head off, to distract the bear. I spend a lot of time in bear country and I have gone over that same situation in my head a hundred times. "What if, how do you react?" If you have to think about it when it's happening, good luck, because someone is going to die. You better have a plan in advance and be able to react in a split second. Obviously, lead slinging guy, didn't have that luxury.

Diamond ground glass.Nothing on the market will beat this scope. Not in the under $500.00 price range anyways. These scopes were made in the Philippines before Simimons moved to Japan. & started making junk. This scope is at its best in low light, foggy ect conditions. I have 4 dedicated Coyote rifles. All are top off with Philippine made Aetec Expect that scope in the link to go for around $100.00 to $120.00

Alright, here is the scenario:
I have an opportunity to buy an brand new Saiga AK-47 fully converted with muzzle brake for $425. I can get 2160 rounds for around $300 (Wolf Shit). AK guys, tell me I am an idiot for not jumping all over this. |

If it's fully converted looks to be a good price(depending upon how and what parts they used to convert). MSRP for a preconverted Arsenal/Legion Saiga is $800+. As for the ammo no clue if that's good bad or ugly.
