Game of Thrones (spoiler-free zone)
A few have suggested it, might as well test the waters. The idea is to give people who haven't read the books a safe place to talk about the show.
A few quick ground rules:

He is Beric Dondarrion. In the first season he was the guy that Eddard Stark ordered to go out and bring The Mountain to justice after hearing he was out razing the countryside. You literally only see him for one scene in the first season, and he was recast for this season. It's all been said in this season but it's hard for it to sink in, but he and his troop are essentially still allied to King Robert and refuse to kneel to anyone as they consider them all to be false kings. They are The Brothers Without Banners.

I dunno, seemed like non-readers were speculating more than book readers were spoiling, but I didn't go back through it. I usually call out people who post spoilers on this thread, which doesn't happen often. I didn't say anything last week though because I figured saying the speculation was a spoiler would be more of a spoiler because it would confirm the speculation.

About the only thing I see that could be somewhat spoiler-ish was Berric Dondarian's backstory. And that's only if they bother extrapolating any more in the show. I don't see any future events here. |

Meh, I guessed that she knew the language just by the way she subtly reacted in the first episode there.

I like this show, but I find it very difficult to follow, not having read the books.

I like reading what people think is going to happen as nonreaders and just want to help when I see someone misread what's explicit. All that said, if anyone didn't catch it, Thoros follows The Red God |

Here's one thing I don't get over the first three seasons. Tywin's a smart guy. He's always seemingly a step ahead of everyone else on the battlefield and in the politics on the show. But he doesn't seem to know that his own son and daughter have an incestuous relationship and produced three children from it (pretty much everyone else in King's Landing knows as much and have for a long time including Tyrion, Varys, Littlefinger, etc.). Does he really not know? Or does he know and is just in denial about that and won't ever bring it up to them out of the shame of it? I would guess the latter. Perhaps he thinks it reflects on him being some kind of failure of a father to them.
