-- I realize I'm late to the show - 90's alternative help.......?
Hey guys - I'm looking for some bands similar to STP or Dinosaur Jr. I like the tracks that were popular enough to remember - however not the ones that were beaten to death by mainstream. It's a fine line.
Here's an example of what I'm looking for in this genre... http://tinyurl.com/mnkvzy If you all can help, that'd be great - I was listening mostly to hip-hop and electronica, even back then. So I missed a decade - aside from the Counting Crows and maybe Smashing Pumpkins - so eliminate those, please. Sisters of Mercy...??? The video I posted is precisely the style, and level of popularity (at that time) that I am looking for Any help? |

Just looked and that's actually from the 80's. Sorry. Music from the early 80's to the late 90's is mostly a blur to me.

I saw Oleander mentioned and for whatever reason it brought up Our Lady Peace in my head.

The band was mentioned before but without much fanfare, and that band is Live. Most everyone is familiar with Throwing Copper, with hits like I Alone, Selling the Drama and Lightning Crashes, but their Mental Jewelry album might be a better overall album.

I saw a band called The Gufs open a show, they had a song that got a little bit of play called Smile. Still one of my favorite songs of the 90's.
