Off Season Lets Talk Guns
Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.
Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon? Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware? Part 2: http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showthread.php?t=293623 Last edited by Bearcat; 07-28-2015 at 06:06 PM.. |

It was on sale for $699, stainless version too. After the tax and dros I paid $789 and change. I also had to get a new FSC that cost $25.

Not to shabby, considering you never held it before. You need your own though, get the trigger and bushing done and you should be able to cut that group in half. Well maybe down to 2 inches.

699 for a quality 1911 is an outstanding price.

Finally got my Taurus 24\7 compact last week. Put about 150 rounds through it, and I'm very happy. A couple of times the slide wouldn't close all the way, but it's in the break in period so I'm not concerned. No jams at all.
It has a Double Action pull for the first round then resets to single...which is a bit of a problem for me getting used to the trigger pull. My first shot is off the mark but subsequent shots are pretty good. Also, I thought the sites were off since it was consistently shooting low and to the left, but a buddy of mine mentioned that I might be rolling the trigger to the left. Also, it's a shorter barrel than I'm used to, and it turns out I was holding it kinda wrong. By the end of shooting, I was getting much better groupings at 25 feet. The kick is not too bad for a short barrel in a .45. In short, I have to keep shooting it to get used to it, but it's a great gun, especially for the price. It comes with a 10 round and 12 round extended mag, and a mag speed loader, which is quite the thumb saver. Never used one before, but it's great. Awesome gun. I can't wait to get out and shoot it again!

I am sure that this may have already been covered, however, I am not going to go back through almost 500 pages to find out, but I am thinking about getting into reloading. Most likely 2.23 to try to keep my ARs fed, but may try a few other calibers as well. Can anyone direct me to some good reloading info on the web, or have any knowledge that they want to impart? Equipment reccomendations, etc...

Midwayusa.com has Daniel Defense Lite rails on sale, and they also put Midwest SS-II Dark Earth carbine rails on sale.
If you need a buffer tube complete assembly, Palmetto has them on sale for $29, which is criminally cheap. |

Ha ha, yep. I just went through the process last Fall. I could have just waited a few months. Oh well, I like the fact that I can cc in other states legally. For that reason, I plan to maintain my CCL.

Anyone know much about Brown Bear or Tula ammo? Lady at Walmart said if you like your gun, you don't buy Tula.
I just picked up a VZ2008 and need to get some ammo.

I just priced buying ten 20 round boxes of Wolf 7.62X39 (.24/rd plus $15 shipping) at $62 at Ammunition depot. But I can buy the same amount of Tulammo at Walmart locally for $3 less after taxes. Any opinions?

Never had a problem with either, just clean your gun if you don't have a chrome-lined barrel.

It's not like an AR, you can shoot anything out of them and they will work fine. We burned 120 rounds of Tulammo Friday out of my AK they worked great. I've also got wolf, Red Army and pulled the trigger on another 1000 rounds Barnaul last night. That will put me at 5000 rounds which is where I like to be on the low end of things.
