I was suprised with Just Go With It. I though it was actually pretty good. Sandler hasnt been funny to me in a while, and you could see what was going to happen a mile away, but it was funny and creative, with Sandlers problems piling up. Id reccomend it to anyone who has some free time and wants to laugh a little bit and watch Brooklyn Decker prance around in a swimsuit half the movie.

Rented 'Get Low' a few nights ago, very entertaining & a killer cast including Duvall, Murray & the grown up kid from Slingblade. Based on a true story, its about a southern hermit who wants a living funeral so he can spill a dark secret from his past.
A serious premise but its loaded with great humor, Bill Murray in particular. |

For horror enthusiasts, i really couldnt recommend Let Me In any higher, when i saw Stephen Kings blurb on the front cover that said "The Best American Horror Movie in 20 Year' i said... i'll be the judge of that, i'd remembered the trailers & couldnt have cared less about a preteen girl vampire.
Wow was he right, original take on the genre from start to finish, beautifully shot. You can take it as a life metaphor on several levels & admire it that way as a piece of art or you can get into it strictly as a horror movie, it just succeeds in so many way. To quickly & cheaply categorize it, think a mix of Sixth Sense for eerie suspense & subdued look with elements of Interview With A Vampire, Shakespearian love tragedies like MacBeth & the Shining. This movie engages you in so many ways... King was right. |

Just finished "I saw the devil". If you enjoyed the Old Boy/Lady Vengeance trilogy, you'll feel right at home with this one. I loved it.

My wife and I saw Bad Teacher last night. It was ok. We probably won't see it again, but it's good for one viewing. It was up and down. When you thought it was gonna get funnier, it got dull. Then when you thought it was gonna get dull, it got funnier. There was not enough comedic power to keep it up for the whole movie therefore it made it kind of lame.

that's awesome! loved the remake (didn't even realize it WAS a remake) can't wait to see the original. looks like the orignal is called Let The Right One In instead of Let Me In.
by the way, watched One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest again last night. freaking AWESOME movie! just awesome. hadn't seen it in over 10 years. brilliant.

With regards to let me in I thought that the American version was actually a little better.
I figured that it would have been way off from the original but they did a great job of sticking to the original. |

you know....I'm not finding a thread that is simply "Favorite Movie". not favorite horror movie or favorite war movie...just favorite movie. am I missing it? I tell ya, after watching Cuckoos Nest again, that's gotta be way up there in my list.
I'm thinking Gran Torino, The Unforgiven, Cool Hand Luke, The Cowboys, & Cuckoo make a great top 5.
