I actually applaud that they are trying something different. No problems there. My problems are with FOXs Marvel movies which are all over the place and spotty continuity at best. They have no overall guiding hand making these things.

I'll applaud something good. If it's different, that's fine.
I've given up on caring about timeline continuity from Fox. They have bigger problems to address. Like not rushing to put out shitty movies.

This looks very good. James Mangold is a quality filmmaker. Will see

Am I the only one that thinks Xavier is dead but has somehow transferred his essence into Logan telepathically, or something along those lines? And on top of that, Logan went berserk and killed the X-Men at some point, and this is how the Professor chose to punish him?
If they want to try to attempt to tie into the actual Old Man Logan storyline, that would be one way to do it. |

In the comics, Logan is tricked by a telepath (Mysterio?) into believing all the X-Men were his enemies, and he slaughters them all. Once he realized what he had done, he freaked out, took a vow of peace, and didn't pop his claws for decades as the world and super powered folks basically destroyed most of everything as he stood back and took no part. It's one of the better graphic novels Marvel ever put out, honestly.

Saw a blurb saying Jackman is having 2nd thoughts on hanging up his claws.
Personally, I am fine with it. He's got about 10 years - maybe, that he can play him believably. Of course, by then the dfx will be good enough they can make him look like he's in his prime and it will look realistically natural. While not perfect, Tron Legacy was the first example of getting age manipulation done digitally well, and a preview of the future possibilities. Not nearly as heralded as T2 was for CGI, I think it went unnoticed for a number of advances in digital fx .
