I'd be just fine if we drafted Aaron Donald. Dude showed that he has freakish god given talent...maybe not on the level of Poe, but close.
You put Donald, Poe and Bailey on the DL and rotate in Catapano, Powe and Devito and teams would have REAL TROUBLE doubling anyone. That means Houston and Hali get to pin those ears back and the secondary gets to feast like kings on all the ducks. |

if we drafted Donald I wouldn't mind switching to a 4-3 base set. hali as an end. lets be honest, he's far too slow to be a 3-4 olb at this point in his career. so hali LE, poe, Donald. sign jared allen out of FA, while finding/developing a RE. Houston at SAM, DJ in the middle, then just find a WILL. sounds like a pretty nasty front 7 without doing a whole lot of work.
I feel that would maximize the talent we have. bailey could drop his weight back down, he looks like a natural 4-3 LE. catapano would be a natural 4-3, 3 tech behind Donald. DeVito would add nice depth behind poe. hali could play RE opposite side bailey If we couldn't sign jared allen. I do kind of wonder about Houston at SAM though. |

I'm sorry but there is no way we can switch to a 4-3 our personnel would need a total overhaul.

DTs: Powell, Poe, Howard, Bailey DEs: Hali, Houston, Catapano, Bailey (strong side sub) MLB: Derrick Johnson, Nico Johnson The secondary would remain the same. The only thing we would need to pick up is some SOLBs and WOLBs and there are some of those available in FA, more than there are any 3-4 OLBs. And of course, our FS situation sucks. Everything else would be fine. |

Hali, Houston, Poe, any of our current DEs. Who would play Ouside linebacker?

FTR, Donald's arms are actually half an inch longer than Atkins'.
Geno Atkins: Aaron Donald 6'1", 293 lbs, 32" arms, 9 5/8" hands: 6'0.6", 285 lbs, 32 5/8" arms, 9 7/8" hands. Bench Reps: 34 : 35 40 Time: 4.75 : 4.68 10 yrd split: 1.68 : 1.59 Vert: 33" : 32" Broad: 9' 9" : 9' 8" 3-cone: 7.33 : 7.11 Gives you any perspective of what Donald can potentially become. |
