Off Season Lets Talk Guns
Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.
Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon? Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware? Part 2: http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showthread.php?t=293623 Last edited by Bearcat; 07-28-2015 at 06:06 PM.. |

There really are two classes of saiga's one is the factory 'converted' models they were brought in by Aresnal before(labeled Legion) now are brought in by FIME group. Then you have the saiga sporting rifles that people convert. Some of those are done well, many are home jobs. Pictures will be useful to tell not only parts but also condition. As much information about it you can get will help evaluate value. For magazines the question is always how rare they are. This is a decent site to show but I'm not always sure how up to date it is. http://home.comcast.net/~shooter2_in...mag_guide.html The more rare a magazine is the more valuable it is. I own 1 Tula plum that I got to go with my 86 AKSU build.

Mags - If they're Tapco, they're junk and don't have much trade value. Stick with the military surplus mags, like the Bulgarian Circle 10's, Russian plums, or East German bakelites. The going price for these from online vendors are anywhere between $40-$60 in new unissued condition, depending on where you get them from. If it isn't milsurp, don't bother with it. |

Shotgun warning.
I've been thinking about getting one of these: Looks and shoots like an AR, but it's a shotgun. You can get 5 or 10 round mags for it. No loading shells one at a time. Price isn't bad. But then I saw one in action yesterday at a 3 gun shoot. Man, what a turd. It literally jammed after every shot (all 13 the poor bastard took) until he finally quit and borrowed somebody else's shotgun to finish the shoot. I'm not saying they're all like that, but my God, what a brokedick piece of garbage that one was. Buyer beware. |

I guess I'll post this here. Probably belongs in a DC thread, but I'm not setting foot in there.
Yesterday my local Walmart emptied the gun cabinet and is apparently done selling them, and I'm told all of 'em in MD/DE have done the same. I don't know why and I don't know what it means going forward, and I don't think the news has caught wind of it yet. But there it is. |

FWIW, Walmarts in Illinois don't sell guns anymore (at least the ones in the Chicago area). I've lived up here long enough that it seems strange to see guns in them when I go back to Missouri. |

Okay serious question. I've had shotguns in the past, looking for an inexpensive weaoib for defense (home defense not carry).
Torn between pistol and rifle, and what caliber. Any suggestions taken por favor. |

I would probably approach this differently if I lived in a house, and definitely if I lived in the country. |

I'm leaning towards rifle, and leaning towards one that can be doubled up for hunting.
