I'm just gauging interest. If they aren't sold on a guy, they aren't sold on a guy. Nothing you can do about that.
But if they do in fact decide to pass on him for another player, said player better end up atleast being an all pro. Cause if we pass on Geno and he becomes just a good starter, we whiffed there, cause even if we get a good player, say an Eric Berry, and Geno goes on to be a Phyllis Rivers in his prime guy, we absolutely did the Chiefs thing and whiffed. Huge. |

If this is the way you feel, there have only been 2 or 3 QB's EVER drafted that you are ok with. |

So answer the question Run. Are you sure enough he won't become a franchise QB that you feel comfortable passing on him?

They end up being good or not good. That surefire tackle could come into the NFL and give up 500 sacks because his QB has terrible pocket presence. That surefire QB could land on a team with Romeo Crennel as the head coach. |

I mean there might be 5 QB's in my lifetime that I can remember thinking "yep, no way that guy fails".
Luck Manning Manning ? ? Maybe not 5, but I was born in the mid late 80's so I missed teh Elway draft. So I'd probably put him on there as well. |

I think every GM in the NFL is extremely confident in the player they are picking in the first round, especially if they are a QB. Their job is on the line, so of course they are sure. I think QB's that are 50/50 are the one's taken in the 3rd round or later like Landry Jones. I think a QB has some red flags is worth trusting at 50%.

Sure, every GM is sold on the guy when they take him. They're sure he's going to be their guy, other wise they wouldn't take him.
But I doubt very much a Gm is gonna come out and say "we are 100 percent sure he's going to be a franchise QB" at the time they draft him and be convinced about it. |

Otherwise they wouldn't draft him.

It's easier to fall ass over tea kettle into a QB Kurt Warner-style than it is to only draft the 100% totally sure no flaws no question marks strike-me-dead-if-he-busts QB in the first round. |
