Off Season Lets Talk Guns
Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.
Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon? Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware? Part 2: http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showthread.php?t=293623 Last edited by Bearcat; 07-28-2015 at 06:06 PM.. |

Good call. Your back is worth way more than $180.
I am trying to figure out exactly where I am going to place a 30 gun (Liberty Colonial) unit in my place and have two concerns... 1. Figure that once I load a 750-800 pound safe full of ammo and toys it will weigh somewhere in the 1,000-1,500 pound range. Not sure if the floor in the 100 year old cabin I live in will support that. Thinking I might have to jump under the cabin and reinforce the floor so it doesn't buckle under the weight. 2. Really prefer the idea of having the safe in a more discreet spot. Trying to think of a way to hide something that damn big but it isn't easy. |

Jackstands and some additional cross members is exactly what I was thinking. I like your idea of using bigger beams. |

To each their own, but 10 cents a round right now isn't bad. I pulled the trigger on that deal which puts me at around 10k .22 rounds. I should be a good summer of shooting.

If anyone glances in the room they would have no idea what is behind that curtain. It is completely discreet. Even if anyone discovered it, they still have to deal with a bolted safe with no room for leverage due to the fact it's in a closet. I guess my ammo could be stolen as it's stored in un-lockable fire boxes, but even so it'd have to be stolen in trips as they are bolted and weigh a shit ton anyways. It'd take a long time for a thief to empty them and remove manageable amounts to the outside of the house. Safe is not physically able to be removed from the house as after I put it in, I rebuilt some walls, the walls would have to be removed first, by the time anyone found this out they'd have to take the safe back into the room to remove the walls in the hallway. This is assuming they found a way to unbolt it in the first place(behind the wall the safe is bolted to is a bathtub) and had the time necessary to do all this. While none of this would completely stop a professional thief it is enough to deter the typical smash and grab. Up here in bum**** Alaska, we're a little short on professional thieves, and anyone with those skills would go after a bigger target anyways. That should give you some ideas.
