So I saw Paranormal activities tonight AND Zombieland. Both were great but Paranormal was just absolutely amazing! I loved it. That was a true scary movie. Best of the year by far!

Just finished watching The Tournament, Starring Ving Rhames, Robert Carlyle, and Kelly Hu. Pretty damn entertaining really. Although I don't know for sure if it's going to be a straight to dvd release or hit theatres since it's not legally out yet here in the US. The plot is pretty straight forward actually.
"Every seven years in an unsuspecting town, 'The Tournament' takes place. A battle royale between 30 of the world's deadliest assassins, with the last man standing receiving the $10,000,000 cash prize and the title of Worlds No 1 which itself, carries the legendary million dollar bullet price tag. All fights are monitored 24 hours a day on redirected CCTV camera and broadcast secretly to a ring of high stake billionaire gamblers. A gritty multistranded action-thriller, 'The Tournament' brings together international killers from every imaginable discipline in a blood bathed contest to the death. We follow the 'favourites' through stories of love, betrayal, revenge and redemption as they finally discover the value of life." http://twitchfilm.net/news/2009/10/f...d-kelly-hu.php http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n3MQwDyx_DM Now the acting isn't anything to anything overly special, award winning or anything like that. And the story isn't the most creative either. I'm sure it's been done before. But what sets this movie apart from that were done before it but similar in plot, are quite possibly is it's action and fight sequences. They were very well done and choreographed. Now I'm not sure if this is true or not but I found this review regarding the fight scenes on IMDB.com By nick-774 (Sat Aug 29 2009 15:47:45) Ignore this User | Report Abuse UPDATED Sun Aug 30 2009 03:31:43 "I have read a few reports claiming, (or rather guessing) that the action sequences in The Tournament have been created with CGI and special effects. well I can catagorically state here and now, that everything you see in this brutal and brilliant film is totally REAL. The fights and the chases are all totally REAL, well they're choreographed of course, and by one of the world's greatest fight choreographers JJ PERRY (Wolverine, Avatar) but they're all played out for REAL. The double decker bus chase and all the explosions are REAL. Sebastian Foucon's incredible free running and his insane leap from the bridge are ALL 100% REAL. There is ABSOLUTELY NO CGI action in this movie at all." http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0471041/...nest/146360566 Now if this is true then I find it very impressive. I found it very entertaining and action packed all the way through. Definitely a fun movie for sure. Check it out if when it's released if ya got some time. |

Saw Where the Wild Things Are. Liked it but didn't LOVE it. I felt it was either too long or too slow - one of the two but not both. I LOVED the voices, creatures and animation. And I also liked the kid.
Jonze said he wanted to make a film about what it was like to be 9. It accomplished that handily.
