Off Season Lets Talk Guns
Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.
Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon? Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware? Part 2: http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showthread.php?t=293623 Last edited by Bearcat; 07-28-2015 at 06:06 PM.. |

Yeah, I didn't know about that one. I just put in a rather beefy order there myself.
Thanks Kepp

One of my friends recently picked up one of these bad boys:
STI Trojan. Got to shoot it today. Holy shit. Crisp, tight, dead nuts on accurate. I've never been much of a fan of 1911-style 45s, but I'd never shot one like this before. I like it waaaaaay too much. My friend really sucks. |

Looking to add a new rifle to the stable. Would love some opinions. The ammo for the .22 is WAY cheaper than the HMR meaning that I am seriously leaning that way.
I am hemming and hawing between: Mossberg 817 .17 HMR - $164.99 or Mossberg 702 Pinkster - $129.99 Last edited by pr_capone; 11-11-2012 at 11:53 PM.. |

Any H&K USP .40 fans on here? I have an opportunity to get one at a terrific price, but I haven't shot one yet.

I had one. I liked it. Only reason I sold it was to get some $ for my 1911 fund. Couldn't convince the wife on dropping 600-800 for another pistol lol.

The 17 HMR are a hoot to shoot. I have a Savage 93R-17 with the heavy target barrel. It was a XMAS present from mom & my kid. That lil round is quite capable of dropping a Coyote in its tracks. My Vote goes to the Mossberg 17. I think those Moss barrels are micro grooved in 17 just like the 22s they make. I no the ammo is a lil more . but you are going from a 75 to 100 yard Lr22. To a 200-275 yard round.

is 17 ammo difficult to get?
I had a guy I work with that has one, and I think I remember him saying something about it can be sort of a pain to fiind.

In fact it is so popular that Savage is about to release a new round based off of the 22 hornet. It will be the 22 hornet necked down to 17. So guys like me can reload in 17. Plus this necked down hornet will reach speeds of 3600-4000 fps. I will trade in my 93-HMR for the 17 Hornet as soon as it becomes available Here is a lil vid of a 17 Fireball being used out in the field

There is a nice lil cult following for the Ar-7. Its a highly thought of 22 in most gun circles I have associated with over the years. Defiantly a nice bugout package

Does anyone know of a good place to get .22 WMR cheap? It's not too expensive to start with but I've never been able to find a "great deal" on it. Need it for my savage 93.
Not mine but looks identical. Fun little plinker gun.
