One thing that Transformers did extremely well was protraying the military as a smart, lethal force instead of the villains or bumblers that you see in other sci-fi movies. One of my absolute favorite scenes was calling in the A-10's and artillery strikes during the village battle. Just found this article.
http://blog.wired.com/defense/2008/1...on-holl-1.html "Hollywood action director Michael Bay enlisted the U.S. military to provide realistic props for his 2007 giant-robot epic Transformers. After the Pentagon helped rewrite the script, Bay got access to helicopters, warships and -- for just $25,000 an hour -- F-22 stealth fighters. As we speak, Bay is shooting a sequel that has even more U.S. military hardware on display, according to USA Today. The director set up shop at White Sands, a test range in New Mexico, standing in for Egypt, where the new movie's climactic battle takes place. "As far as I know, this is the biggest joint military operation movie ever made," said Bay's liaison officer from the Army. The list of military assets for the White Sands shoot included:two A-10 Thunderbolt II "Warthog" tank-killing jets; six F-16 Fighting Falcons; 10 armored Humvees; the Army's Golden Knights parachute team; two Abrams tanks; two Bradley tanks; two missile-launcher vehicles; two armored personnel carriers; and a quarter-mile of the missile testing range, cleared of unexploded ordnance ..."

I just recently watched Zack and Miri Make a Porno.
Pretty funny flick. However, I'm starting to think Rogan is going to end up like Stiller. Meaning, he's going to be playing alot of the same character in his movies. I guess that's not necessarily a bad thing - seeing as I like some of Stiller's movies. I know, I know... |

Clint Eastwood plays a mean man in Gran Torino, but it's hard not to laugh. I loved the barbershop scenes. I wanted to see him kick that gang's ass a little more.
I would've loved to be that guy alongside Scarlett Johansson in the pool scene of that new chick flick

Kevin Smith( aka Silent Bob )wrote and directed such movies as "Mallrats", "Chasing Amy", "Clerks", and of course, "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back".
These college lectures are as funny as any stand up I've ever seen( more so in many cases ), and are also an interesting insight in to the business side of the movie industry. Enjoy!

Went to see Frost/Nixon this weekend and it was pretty damn good. Frank Langella was definitly deserving of the nomination and overall it was a very well put together historical fick. The supporting cast also included a few of my favorites with Sam Rockwell and Oliver Platt but Kevin Bacon had a few great scenes as well. It probably helped for my entertainment purposes that I was largely unfamiliar with the events surrounding the final bits of the interviews.

I like David Lynch films, but that wasn't even his best one. Although from the 80's, 'Blue Velvet' was probably his best. From the 90's I liked 'Mullholland Drive' the best. The movie after 'Lost Highway', the 'Straight Story' was good, and was a pretty normal film. 'Twin Peaks' the movie started out great, but then went down hill.

IM still amazed Lynch directed that. Its just so wholesome. Its even rated G.
Farnsworth was great in that.

I can understand how some wouldnt dig Lynch but IMO Lost Highway is the best film of the 90s. Perfect, scary and provoking in everyway.
I think Borders is the only place that carries it . If you havent seen it check it out. ANd SImply Red, love the Eraserhead avatar. Great taste dude. |

I just watched Tombstone for the first time on Sunday.
It was a good movie, but all of my friends have always hyped it up so much that I didn't feel it was as great as they said it would be. Good flick though. |
