Pats Cheating Comfirmed

According to the report, the league sources say the NFL determined 11 of the 12 footballs used by the Patriots were under-inflated by two pounds per square inch each. Per NFL rules, footballs are required to be inflated between 12.5 and 13.5 PSI and weigh between 14 and 15 ounces.

The balls for both teams had already been checked by the refs and were all within specs.

I'm not deflecting anything. I'm rebutting your claim. This isn't about something flying over people's heads. It's about you ignoring some information.

That means pretty much nothing.

And now, it's back in circles again.

Because he's never as a coordinator or HC had any occasion whatsoever to give so much as passing thought to the condition of game balls.

On Tuesday, they are going to face even tougher questions, leading to more subjects that are controversial from the largest global media gathering of the week.

Patriots fans should spend their time writing to the Pro Football Hall of Fame Selection Committee and start arguing their case instead of posting on a football forum. Just saying...

It means EVERYTHING. It means both teams balls were "prepped" as you put it the same before the refs checked them, but afterward one team's balls suddenly became different.

It is PATHETIC how you guys are rationalizing cheating.

Proof exists that it didn't benefit the Patriots because they scored less points in the first half with an under-inflated ball than they did in the second half with a ball inflated to 12.5 psi.

So, there are two issues at hand:

1. Did the under-inflated ball provide a competitive advantage? From looking the score, the answer would be "No".

2. Were the balls deliberately under-inflated and by whom?

Personally, I don't really care. The Patriots are clearly the better team and would have beat them 10 times out of 10. But if it can be proven (which is unlikely) that the Patriots deliberately under-inflated the balls because they believed it gave them a competitive advantage, then I would expect penalties from the NFL front office.

Either way, it wouldn't have changed the outcome of the AFC Championship game and thus, the Super Bowl participants.

To be fair, when their beloved coach and quarterback keep contradicting themselves, it must be hard for the homers to keep their spin straight.

On the radio they said that someone had the footballs in the bathroom for about 90 seconds. I'd say that's where the shenanigans took place.

Cheating is wrong even if it gives you no advantage. This is simple ethics that anyone should be able to understand. You are a smart guy, I am amazed you don't understand that.

I agree that #2 is the crucial question, but if it's answered in the affirmative I guess I differ in that the greater the advantage you already have the more egregious deliberate cheating becomes.

Mentioned above was a hypothetical of a pocketed cheat sheet in a test situation. This to me, is more like having the answers and methodological steps on a cheat sheet, not using it and working out all the problems, then referring to the cheat sheet at the end to verify that you got everything right.

You demonstrated [to yourself] that you can do the work, but you were craven in seeking that additional advantage of verification. That verification may be minor in the grand scheme of things, but it's crucial to the sanctity of the testing process.

I love the Chiefs, but I would NEVER justify or downplay this kind of cheating if they did it. It is sad and pathetic that you do it for your team. Have some ****ing integrity.
