McDiarmid said, “Well, there’s so many rumors. I like you, know nothing, because there are no facts yet. We know that John Williams is doing the music. Kathleen Kennedy announced that when we were all in Essen, but she and everyone else is unable to say anything else at the moment, because I understand they’re still working on the script.”
McDiarmid added, “There’s been all sorts of rumors. No conversations have been had, and no deals have been struck. And anyway, I’m dead…but I could be resurrected. Yes, I’ve heard of ghosts, I’ve heard of clones. There’s all sorts of possibilities. But until I get that phone call, like the one I had before, I won’t believe I’m in it. And I think I won’t be working for it, because it’s a whole new world now that I think is going to be invented. There might be some old favorites in it, but I should imagine it’s about the adventures of the descendents of the first characters and new villains that no one except George has ever imagined. And I hope it is, because the great thing about Disney is that it will continue in a new form with new people and be reinvented, just like all great works of art are sooner of later.”

Ewan's best work lies outside SW.

Ewan McGregor is the biggest bright spot in the prequel era, though I liked Liam Neeson as Qui-Gon.
I still think the biggest problem with the PT (other than "kidding" it up with young Anakin, Jar-Jar, and the horrible script-writing) is that the interesting complexities of what was going all (Really, all of Palpatine's subtle manipulations) were mostly absent from the film. The novelizations of The Phantom Menace and Revenge of the Sith are quite excellent, IMO. And there are a lot of powerful moments and scenes that are lost on the silver screen. Revenge of the Sith, especially... there was a lot more going on during the lightsaber duel between Dooku and Obi-Wan/Anakin than was shown (basically, Dooku's "Oh, shit" moments... first realizing that Obi-Wan and Anakin have become incredibly more powerful and changed their styles of combat, making them much more dangerous than him... then realizing that his master has been planning to replace him all along). I honestly think the first movie should have been more about Palpatine working behind the scenes (including some elements from the Darth Plagueis novel, perhaps) to set things up, with Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan as the primary protagonists sans- Jar-Jar (entirely), Amidala (entirely), young Anakin (until the end). If that movie had been Qui-Gon investigating a "lead" he had received from the Living Force, noticeably going against the council, and eventually discovering Anakin, while Palps worked in the background, I think it works much better and sets up the rest of the trilogy much better. Qui-Gon can still die at the end... can still have the epic lightsaber battle with Darth Maul (this time, probably fighting a stalling action against him so Obi-Wan can "get the boy out!"). Second movie can still set up the Clone Wars (with more emphasis on Palpatine's manipulations) ... Third movie can still feature the Clone Wars, Order 66 and Anakin Skywalker's fall/mutilation. Making these things kid-friendly just destroyed them.

Alex Pettyfer and Rachel Hurd-Wood are the latest names for Luke's son and Leia's daughter:
http://latino-review.com/2013/08/exc...s-episode-vii/ I know who went in for an audition to play the daughter of Princess Leia (and presumably Han Solo)…And got it confirmed via representation and other solid sources: Rachel Hurd-Wood Our sources told us that she went in for a read and, so far, was the only one that went in for the part. However, there will be other girls going for a read, meaning SHE DOESN’T HAVE THE ROLE YET!! We want to be very clear on that before it gets blown out of context. Hurd-Wood is an English actress and model who is known for her role as Wendy Darling in the 2003 film Peter Pan. That’s not the only thing I found out! I’ve now heard from a number of people that another actor is going for a meeting to possibly star in the film: Alex Pettyfer Pettyfer starred in the 2012 movie Magic Mike, and played a supporting role Lee Daniels film The Butler. As for what Pettyfer is going in for? Your guess is as good as mine, but I would say he’s going in for Skywalker’s son now that Gosling has declined. Things are going to start heating up in the next month and announcements will probably start around October. One last note, I’m hearing there is a major casting news (not what I reported above) dropping very soon via Lucasfilm. It could even be officially announced today… but I promised that I wouldn’t say a word on it. |

I could buy that as the offspring of Han Solo and Leia Organa, if that's the direction they go.
