1. Bill O'Reilly isn't a racist. 2. When actual racists appear on the side of the GOP, they are routinely denounced. 3. I'd put the record of the modern GOP on this subject up against that of democrats any day. Let's not forget that it's the GOP that strives for a colorblind society and the democrats who fight to maintain race-specific policies.

Corporations don't pay taxes. Their customers pay their taxes for them in the form of higher prices. Want to make U.S.-based corporations less able to price their products competitively? Just raise their taxes.

In a true, free market based economy, raising prices the the very last option one would consider. Raising your prices immediately gives your competition an advantage on you.

http://fair.org/extra-online-article...rs-in-context/ http://www.theatlanticwire.com/busin...ishment/58769/ The shirt below says, "Yup I'm a racist" http://www.google.com/search?q=racis...w=1920&bih=955 ![]() ![]() And then of course this recent remark: “My father had a ranch. We used to hire 50 or 60 person of Hispanic heritages and — to pick tomatoes,” Young said in the interview with KRBD. “You know, it takes two people to pick the same tomatoes now. It’s all done by machine.” "All Republicans, White people, conservatives and Southerners are not racists. In fact, the majority of these groups are not necessarily racist. However, the GOP refuses to take responsibility for its own bad press and would rather say that the media is blowing things out of proportion, unfairly targeting its members (instead of Democrats) or that Blacks and Latinos are too sensitive. All of these outfits and fashion flips rather than cleaning up their act. In the last election cycle alone, the GOP with the ****erhead Ranch Scandal, Rick Santorum saying he didn’t want to give tax money to black people, Paul Ryan talking about “urban voters,” Sununu calling Obama “lazy,” and the CPAC panel on race debacle, they’ve given the average minority American enough fodder to ignore them for several more elections. For example, take that shirt that you use as proof that the GOP harbors racists. The front of the shirt does say "Yup, I'm a racist...". But the back goes on to say: Quote:
![]() As for the O'Reilly stuff, the first link is a joke. He says that Asian people are generally industrious. Like it or not, cultural stereotypes exist for a reason. It's not offensive at all to assume positive characteristics of a person from a particular culture until proven otherwise by the individual. Did you even watch that video or did you just post the link after reading the bullshit description? His joke about stealing hubcaps isn't race specific. If you think only blacks steal hubcaps, that's on you, not O'Reilly. Being black doesn't immunize you from being joked about. The "person of Hispanic heritage" comments don't show racism, they show old men who resorted to a term from their youth. In O'Reilly's case, the article shows that he was talking about a specific group of lawbreakers who smuggle people across the border, not about an entire race or ethnic group. It was a poor choice of words, but it wasn't racist. Don Young was immediately denounced by the leaders of his party when he recently used the term, but again, it's not at all clear that his use of that term was racist as opposed to just a reversion to the language of an earlier time. Either way, he was denounced by the GOP because it's not acceptable language today. And your last paragraph: Quote:
