All of the looming cuts to basic services, the recession we're most certainly still in... and 2700 of these things is a good use of money? feed yet another goverment agency thats already too damn big?

For what? plenty of people are laughing it off as usual, but we still havent heard why this is a good idea or why they might be needed.... what, th3e national guard and state police forces wont be enough to handle civil unrest?

Even without the conspiracy element, what a HUGE waste of ****ing money.

You aren't really taking seriously this un-sourced article from a survivalist blog, are you?

By the way, if these vehicles didn't exist, people would complain that Obama doesn't care about securing the border and our national security (which would go to show that he is a Muslim operative attacking us from the inside-out).

Can you explain the picture then? Or the video in the link?
I mean really, it's already known via other sources that local police are being more militarized via DHS.
Not to mention how many police are former military who've been trained to see civilians as terrorists after being in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The guy in the below video claims they're a national team too. That's another dangerous marker—nationalization of our police forces.

The existence of these vehicles isnít the problem. DHS buying them is.

I'm more interested in something credible that supports the OP. That's generally how claims work, and for good reason, otherwise we spend our time in a futile chase to prove a negative.

Here's the original source: http://modernsurvivalblog.com/govern...treet-sweeper/

You'll notice it's completely unsourced. Here's the Navistar Defense report: http://www.navistardefense.com/Navis.../newsandevents

Do you see where the Survivalist blog makes the jump? Their argument is roughly:

P1: Navistar makes vehicles for military (Navistar report)
P2: Military is drawing down troops in Afghanistan (general knowledge)
P3: Homeland Security is buying the vehicles from military (unsourced)
C: These tanks are going to be used on American streets against citizens

Some people want an Obama mouthpiece, A.K.A, state run media, A.K.A MSM, to come out with this or it cannot be true.

When we start seeing actual footage of hundreds or a thousand of these things patrolling the border, then i'll believe thats what they're being used for.
