For many people watching, this was probably their first exposure to Rubio.

After Bobby Jindal completely destroyed himself as a national candidate after his response to the SOTU, I don't know how anybody with national ambitions would think this is a good idea.

If you do a good job, nobody's going to remember you. Meanwhile, if the lights are too hot and you end up thirsty/sweaty, you're just done in the eyes of an electorate that has the attention span of a moth.

Just stay the !@#$ away from these things and leave the responses to guys like Boehner that already have already pretty much locked in their career tracks.
