Steven Jackson anyone?

How much would he cost as a replacement for Hillis? I like the idea.

4 yards a pop doesn't impress me especially after watching a guy like Charles to boot. He may join the Tru Fan Hall of Bruisers or some shit.

Charles has been on shit teams, too.

Jackson has been on shit teams pretty much his entire ****ing career. To say he'd be in "Tru Fan Hall of Bruisers" is asinine.

If he was on a team that made the playoffs multiple times in his career-WITH A ****ING DECENT O-LINE-you'd have more people talking about him.

Charles is a great RB, Jackson has just done it longer on a more shittier team.

I've heard that Jackson is a workout warrior type who stays in great shape. I know Thomas Jones had that same rep, but Jackson was a much better RB to begin with. I don't see him as a fit for us necessarily, because I think he'll WANT to be the main guy, but I think he could absolutely be productive in the right situation.

Why do they need a power back?

There's plenty of teams without a power running back. The Ravens don't have one, they won the Super Bowl. The Patriots don't have one. The Broncos didn't have one.

What's this fan base's obsession with power running backs?

Jackson isn't even close to Charles.

He's had one insane year (2006) and a pretty good 2009, but that's about it. I don't count rushing for 1k as a great year.

Charles has 2 1,400 yard seasons under his belt and he only started a full year in one of them.

I agree, I don't give a shit if a guy is big or not. You don't have to be huge to be a good short yardage runner.

I think probably a lot of people became fans during the Okoye/Word era and want to recapture it. haha

With Alex Smith coming in next year we are going to go good running game play action and bend but don't break defense.

Jackson, like Curtis Martin, was never really a top 3 RB at any point in his career.

Sanders, Thomas, Smith, and Tomlinson were.

I applaud RB's who are durable. That in and of itself doesn't make them great. He's had a great career, but he was never a spectacular RB. JMO. I'd rather have a spectacular flash in the pan for 4-5 years than a guy who was consistent but not spectacular for 10 years even if he is less likely to make the HOF.

He made some fun RPG's, but I haven't seen anything out of him lately that looks like it would be a dominant MMORPG.
