I understand your point, but it doesn't preclude one from decrying even the single event when it falls short of expectation.

Oops.

Many people, including President Obama, called for more civility in rhetoric and tone in the wake of the shooting of Arizona congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords in January.

At the Tucson memorial, the president said, it's important for us to make sure -- quote -- "we're talking with each other in a way that heals, not in a way that wounds."

Those calls are apparently fading from memory during the debt ceiling debate.

Wednesday, the president said the issue should not be used as -- quote -- "a gun against the head" of the American people.

And Newsweek's Tina Brown compared congressional Republicans refusing to raise taxes to suicide bombers.

This week, Chris Matthews said twice the GOP position was -- quote -- "terrorism."

Mediaite called that an extreme "comparison" from Matthews and noted -- quote -- "the rhetoric certainly seems to be heating up."

No doubt it is bad enough the president flails the same rhetoric but the left takes cover behind the mainstream left media.

Sucks doesn't it Frankie?

Well, we don't know if they're using it for anything else. That would be conjecture.

With this many witnesses he should’ve been short tracked to capital punishment.

This thread came when all the hand wringing over Tea Partiers being an uncivil danger to our democracy was taking place. Then a few months later all those people disappeared when the occupy crowd was doing the same or worse.

7 consecutive life terms. Dude is waaayyyy too obviously batshit crazy to execute or by God we'd have put him down.
Arizona isn't as good at it as Texas but we know our way around the death penalty.
