how shady or legit is the NFL ?
http://spaces.covers.com/blog/Maximu...or-Profit.html
http://thefixisin.net/nfl.html I'm not betting my farm on how true this is but it makes a lot of sense to me. The NFL is an entertainment business and can bend a games outcome when they so choose. Quote:

I think you stumbled on something brilliant. To ensure there's no shenanigans between employees of the same company, the NFL should play hockey against the NBA using MLB umpires.

I guess... maybe if the play were one that made you question the validity of the score, sure... maybe you could say something odd about the fist bump. But, I think it's a whole lot of nothing. Funny though.

Amazing. The NFL has managed to keep a tighter lid on things that the US Government and the Mafia - both of whom have far harsher punishments for people who give away secrets. |

Art Schlicter
Len Dawson Bubba Smith Terrell Suggs Ray Lewis Plenty of players have said that the league is rigged. After all I've seen, I know it is. I know how my favorite cartoon is made. It's okay...I'm a grown man with no emotional attachments to something as asinine as a ****ing football team comprised of overpaid, UNDERPRACTICED, men - children who have no bearing on me and my real life. The NFL is rigged. Bottom line. If you watched that game yesterday with an actual objectiveness as opposed to 'NFL fan' perspective, you'd KNOW it. Rigged.

If you have money on the over which I'm assuming a lot do based on last seasons team you were feeling pretty damn great sitting at 7-3 and having just beaten the world champs and going on the road to face an 0-10 division rival, now, shit just got real interesting on that bet.

theres nothing wrong with running around and catching a ball for two years for a couple million. Who's going to complain about that ? every major college football player is a dishonest lying jerk. Not hardly any of them have seen a class room. They are already living a lie. no one has ever had a long winded discussion with any player about how a football game was played and what strategy was involved. All you ever see is stupid little edited comments that are just general sports clichés. |

I saw the plays, and am completely objective, because I honestly don't give a darn whether Arizona or KC won (except for a mild rooting interest for the Chiefs due to my many years on here, but hardly enough to generate true bias), and I disagree. How is it, exactly, that EVERY fanbase thinks the refs are out to screw THEIR team? Go read Patriots boards. Broncos boards. The teams that many here are convinced OWN the refs have fans that are equally convinced the refs are completely out to screw them. The bottom line is that human error happens, especially in the tenth of a second that refs have to make a call. Fans, with modern technology, spend ridiculous amounts of time watching replays from every angle and still often disagree about what the call should've been, but refs are supposed to be PERFECT, or else it's RIGGED!! Ya right.

You guys understand that the average player doesn't exactly have a stellar IQ, or any more of an insight into whether the league is rigged or not than Joe Fan does, right? If the NFL wanted the Ravens to lose, I'm sure taht COULD HAVE BEEN ARRANGED, and in a much more subtle fashion than turning off the lights. JFC.

Lights went out on the Boston Bruins during Stanley Cup matches about 25 years ago too. I'm sure that was the evil hand of the NHL!!
