Country Club Plaza = Bannister Mall part 2?
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - More than 100 teens converged on the Country Club Plaza Saturday night and created a ruckus for patrons and a lot of work for Kansas City police officers.
Read more: http://www.kshb.com/dpp/news/local_n...#ixzz2tczs9I7u Stories like those about the plaza have been rolling in for the last year or longer. At one point there was a shooting and they have put a curfew in place I remember years ago bannister mall area was thriving. Hypermart and all the other surrounding stores were very popular and always busy. Crime slowly strangled the area and people chose to go elsewhere. The whole place turned into a ghost town. Obviously Cerner is building there now but the question I pose is simple There are a lot of options other than the plaza around KC so... Will the Plaza die the same way the Bannister area did? |

The situations aren't the same, but they should probably consult with the Westport group which was plagued by shit in the late 2000's and is now thriving with new businesses and a strong vibe.

I happened to be at one of these inadvertently. I had stopped off for coffee on the Sportbike with other rider, when we saw a shit load of black kids rolling down the street. As they were walking past they were eyeing the bikes (they had been vandalizing shut the entire way down the street). As they rolled past, another biker rather large in size looked one dead in the eye and said "don't even think about it mother ****er".
I have no doubt if we weren't standing next to our shit, it would've been destroyed.

Bannister Mall was the place to be back the 80s. Pretty sad what happened there.

this is probably the most ridiculous thread of the year. The KC, MO police will never let this happen. Yes, there is a surge of crime. No, it will not kill the Plaza.

How the **** should I know? It's obviously attracted people who have no problem shooting a gun into a crowd.

The plaza is a tourism deal, no way they let that get shit on. Malls are 80s crap that never were going to last.
