John Kerry: Secretary of State?

"Massachusetts Senator John Kerry is lobbying for secretary of State, although Obama has been cautioned that would be received negatively by many Republicans."

What do you think about this? I remember Kerry's "passing the global test" line from the debates. I wonder if Obama subscribes to the same test.

I saw that earlier and I have mixed feelings about that.

The one I am kind of happy about is the report that Robert Kennedy Jr is going to head the EPA. Now that I like because he will go after companies who are polluting and have been getting away with it for the last 8 years.

Seriously? I heard that and for the first time, my stomach cramped up over this election. It's gonna get real effing expensive to manufacture anything or produce energy real effing fast. Go ahead and play taps for nuclear.

If that is correct (Robert Kennedy Jr.) then that is great news. Kennedy is extremely well qualified in environmental matters. And I believe he will adopt a pragmatic and practical approach, not some insane ultra-left wing whacko approach.

First, could you delineate what you consider pragmatic v whacko?
Second, could you give some info that led you to this conclusion?

Last thing I saw was him running point on one of his nieces pet project documentaries pressuring to shut down Indian Point, even though it's a well run facility, because it's too close to Manhattan.

He's already a step beyond 'clean coal or bankruptcy' to 'no coal, no more, no how, no such thing as clean coal.' The one energy resource we have an advantage in.

So, no coal, no nuclear, stop using oil. I see a lot of pain in the offing.
