I thought the final season of Lost was inferior to the others... but still found myself glad that they made it. There are a lot misconceptions about what really happened and didn't in the last episode. Maybe that's partially why people were dissatisfied.

The ending was a complete mess and a paradox.

The show started as an X-Files wanna-be with "Monster of the Week" episodes mixed in with The Observers. In the end, it was a giant mish-mash mess that made absolutely no sense.

The series should have ended when Bell disappeared after his universe was destroyed. But since Fox needed a few more episodes in order to syndicate, they came up with that lame "Flash Forward" half-season that was half-baked.

It will be a cold day in SoCal before I ever watch another Abrams/Orci/Kurtzman TV program or movie. The fact that Abrams is running Episode VII makes me ill when I think about it.

Appreciate your recap. Must be why I could barely remember the last season. Likely just wrote it off as yet another "oh well, crap finish."

Yeah, it really sucked. It didn't suck as much as LOST, but it definitely sucked.

Alcatraz might have been worse, but then again, they didn't expect to be cancelled and would have likely had a different sucky ending.

I've watched and mostly enjoyed the first four seasons. I'm about to start the fifth. I hope it's not as horrible as you guys say, but the one flash forward episode they had near the end of the fourth season didn't bode well. It just seemed like a sharp departure from what the show's been so far.

I'm a little over halfway through season 5 and it is a sharp departure, but I like it better than the people in this thread apparently did. I've been reading along as I watch and I've been surprised by the reactions to season 5. I think there are some plot holes that are fair criticism, but there's so much in this series that you have to suspend disbelief for anyway that they haven't really bothered me.

I will say that I liked the last 2-3 episodes of Season 5 a lot more than anything else that season, so the good news is that it gets better.

I've been re-watching this with my dad (his first time watching) and I think it holds up for the most part.

I can spend time looking for the early hints and the "catch the observer in every episode" game. I really liked the characters. Peter was a witty, smart, mystery of a character that you wanted to learn more about (and I wish they would have explored his history more.) Walter might be my favorite character on TV of all time and his performance throughout the series was great.

During the first season it felt a lot like an X-Files ripoff show that I kept watching because of Walter. By season 4 I was hooked and this is one of my top 10 favorite shows.

I really enjoyed season 5. It was the science/how come of season 5 I felt was a let down. When you make a show with so damned many elements and easter eggs that are all important you make every little detail important. This was the one season it seemed like they didn't take care with the little details and it was a disservice to what the show deserved...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

I just finished the series and I ****ing loved it. Easily my favorite tv show of all time. Walter, or John should've won multiple awards for his acting. I laughed a lot watching it because Olivia kept making that "someone farted" face. Peter was cool but he was number three on the list behind Walter then Olivia. The last season seemed to turn in a completely different direction which is cool, but kinda sucked also. It was like they just came up with that story on the spot? When you create a show, don't you go start to finish. Does it always have to be this rushed ending? Lost was the same way and holy ****ing shit I was so pissed with that show. Anyway, best show ever. I didn't want some lollypop bubblegum ending, but after going through the shit they went through, I guess it's good to give them something "normal" for a change.

One of many questions though, were they still in the Fringe unit in 2015 when they were playing in the park with Etta?

Man, it took me over a year to finish Season 1 of this show. I don't know what it was, but I couldn't get into the characters... then I finally just sat down and forced myself to watch the rest and now I am addicted. Season 2 was fabulous and within a couple of days I am already half way through season 3.

I love this show!~

By the end I ended up loving Olivia. Walter is awesome. This was my favorite show of all time. I love just being able to talk about it. Come back and post more as you go on.
