I would stay away from Excalibur.
I'm in Vegas over Memorial Day weekend for a meeting about 1 mile off the strip. For the final night I booked a room @ Ballys for $57 after all taxes & fees. Mostly due to location and the fact that I won't be spending much time in the room.
