My ol' man graduated from Lafayette high school in St. Joseph MO.
The dumbassery isn't from the area etc. It's from their stupid mascot. The "Lafayette Fighting Irish."

Lots of tough haggis-eating Frenchman or a bunch of Guinness drinking pussies? Who knows. You'd think they'd come up with a new mascot.
