In fact, I live about as far away from Chicago as I can and still have a reasonable commute to the Loop. Nice suburb - one of the best in the area. Conservative bastion. Guns are legal. Low crime. Streets are safe.
If it wasn't in Illinois, it would be perfect. Although that's still better than the fascist hellhole you live in. I guess if you want to live in a police state where you'll get rousted for blinking wrong and feel Riyadh's a bit too warm in the summer, New York can't be beat.
