Sometimes I wonder if Norm wasn't one of the worst things to happen to this program--killed our rep in St. Louis for two-plus generations and got fans to aspire to Marty-level basketball success to the point where they look back on those teams with fondness, greatly overrating their actual talent.

I think the bigger issue is the misconception of what type of teams Norm Stewart won with. His best teams had elite talent (Willie Smith and Kermit, Stipo, Drew, Sundvold, Frazier, Chievous, Doug Smith, Anthony Peeler, Melvin Booker, Jevon Crudup, Kelly Thames). When he didn't have talent in the mid-to-late 90s, the program fell off significantly.

Maybe when he is inevitably canned, Kim can find a job coaching basketball at Falwell's school. It worked for Turner Gill...
