Happy two-year anniversary, John Elway

To think that two years ago today, the football nation wondered: Would John Elway become the next Matt Millen?

Uh, that would be a resounding, no.

Prior to this day two years ago, the Broncos were arguably at their lowest point in franchise history. They were coming off a 4-12 record and, worse, the Broncos’ fan base was bitter, irate, disgusted about their previous coach, Josh McDaniels.

Faith in Broncos owner Pat Bowlen was at all-time low, in no small part because he had made the unfortunate decision to hire McDaniels.

But Bowlen righted his franchise two years ago today by hiring John Elway to take over his team.
