Not sure where you are, but every tobacconist I've visited would let you sample the tobaccos free of charge. They know you're going to buy a few ounces anyway, so it's no problem to let you sample.

The main issue is I am buying it in bags like so:
so they won't really let you sample the tobacco. You just have to hit or miss. Luckily it's only about 6 dollars for 6 oz of tobacco so there isn't much monetary waste involved.

So you just hand roll with papers?
