Aspartame is really bad for you. Splenda not much of an improvement. Diet Soda can makes you fat too. Or hold onto it.
Try Stevia. It's natural being from a safe plant. Don't like the aftertaste, then use Pure Via. I use it in Mojitos and Margaritas — nearly everything except baking. But they have come out with something for baking now too.
