Several pages back (after the first KSU/KU game I think) where the Cats put up a Wooly type performance, scored 88 points and lost, I remember you posting something along the lines of "now that KSU runs an actual offense" (which I think was referencing Frank's O), I laughed.
And today, over the final 24 minutes of game action, KSU scored 19 points and went 4-12 (including 1-6 in the final 5 mins) from the FT line. The offense I saw was running around for 23 seconds followed by a high ball screen and drive and failed dish or just a terrible shot. .69ppp.
In the 2nd half they hit 3 jumpers total, the 2 by Stokes (one, a rather prayer like shot off an inbounds play with one second on the shot clock after a huddle by the refs on a scramble where the ball bounced off about three players) in the final 4 mins that saved the game and a 3 early in the half by Dean Wade.
I thought for sure the home loss to TCU - a team with [I]three[I] road wins in their Big XI basketball history - would end the bad dream that has been Bruce Weber.
But no, I hitched my wagon to Scott Drew and figured this would be a 20 point loss. I should know better.
This seals Bruce squeaking into the NIT and keeping his job. FML.
