The iconic Western The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance is a thoroughly entertaining tale of law and order, standing up to the bad guy, politics and a love triangle in the territories. John Wayne's presence is astonishing, his delivery so crisp and firm in this it became the standard for impressionists. James Stewart is his usual self, the little virtuous champion. Several critics voted for the film as a Sight & Sound Top 10 of all-time, but it's a little too caricaturistic for that kind of acclaim. Still a must-see.
