It's the only time I've seen an AR come with a half rail like that on the fore-grip. There aren't a lot of people that are going to put a vertical grip that far back anyway, so why have the rail go all the way back and make a 'conventional' firing position less comfortable?

I just think it's an awfully smart modification that I'm surprised I don't see more of. Using the mid-length gas-block system kinda helps make that possible though. With the CAR length, you'd lose a lot of rail space with the half-rails, so maybe that's why they're willing to do it with the mid-length gas block.

I'm getting more excited about it the more I ponder the possibilities. It really is a turnkey rifle for what I was wanting - I don't see any 'foundational' modifications I'd make to it at all, apart from adding things to it.
