Along with Clint Bowen, Reggie Mitchell was also retained as Running Backs coach. He's survived multiple HC firings now.. guy is like a cat with 9 lives. If there is one position KU has been good at over this stretch it has been rb.

Kansas head coach David Beaty hired Gary Hyman as the Jayhawks’ special teams coordinator and tight ends coach in January 2015. Hyman arrived in Lawrence after spending the 2014 season at Texas A&M where he served as the quality control coach for special teams.

Kenny Perry joined Kansas head coach David Beaty’s staff as the co-defensive coordinator and cornerbacks coach in January 2015. Perry came to KU after spending the previous two years at TCU, including the 2014 campaign as the cornerbacks coach.
Prior to his time at TCU, Perry served seven seasons (2006-12) as head football coach at Bowie High School in Arlington, Texas. Before his time at Bowie, Perry was also head coach at Haltom High School (2004-05) and Arlington Sam Houston (2000-03).
A three-time District Coach of the Year, Perry was the 2007 Dallas Morning News Coach of the Year. He was also a six-time selection as the Dallas Cowboys Coach of the Week. In 2010, Perry was selected to the Board of Directors for the Texas High School Coaches Association. He has also been the director of the North Texas High School Football Association.

It seems pretty wild to make a guy with 1 years experience as a college coach a co-DC but I guess that's what it took to pull him away from TCU. Good connections for recruiting
