You tell a tech guy that you need to get work done so he doesn't do some updates that dick up your office for a week because suddenly when you say "i need X" the person you say it to doesn't say "but what about Y?", they just capitulate because you're now a person that gets listened to. You realize that and now you're the person that has to ask yourself "but what about Y?" because nobody is going to do it anymore. You have to be your own devil's advocate at that point and you recalibrate your behavior accordingly.
This is where parents come in handy. I'm not talking about "parenting" but actually discussing adult matters with your parents - you know, people you can trust.

I didn't ever expect to be running a division or becoming an exec at Paramount Pictures but it happened. Fortunately, my Dad's still around and as person that was president of multiple corporations, I could turn to him and ask how he'd handle a situation with an under-performing employee, what to say to employees that came to be for advice and how to manage being friends with superiors and people that worked for me, without giving preferential treatment.

Louie has been a force in the entertainment business since the early 90's, whether as a talented writer or producer. He held a lot of power in the industry, which only grew as his career as a stand-up comedian began to grow.

It's fairly apparent to me that he abused that power because he could. He didn't seek the advice of friends - as a matter of fact, he outright lied to his friends (Mark Maron in particular) about the "rumors" that had been circulating since 2002. He wasn't trying to be the best producer or writer that he could be in those circumstances.

He became a monster instead.

I can't even imagine how horrified and ashamed his daughters must be after these revelations.

I wonder if the sexual deviancy was always a part of his life or if the power that he held over employees and other comedians spawned said deviancy?
