So I mean even if it cures the cancer there's a 50% chance it'll kill you. Most of the folks I know discovered the cancer at stage 3 or 4, so the chemo was pretty unlikely to save them anyway. I think sometimes doctors mislead people with late stage cancer into thinking that Chemo will do more for them than it actually will.

It may extend your life a few months and it may make whatever pain the cancer is causing to be reduced, but there's no chance chemo will save you from stage 4 cancer. I think they make people think there's a chance, and people will do anything for that chance. The reality is that there is no chance with late stage cancer. They want your money though, and they're not worried about you suing them in 4 months.
Whoa whoa.... WTF? 50% chance of death from chemo treatment? Where the hell are you getting that from? You "Think" you're 50/50 on the complications killing you? That's not right at all.

Chemo is nasty, but you are way off here. Try looking at some data. And it's disingenuous to say that there's one overall survival rate % for all forms of chemo. There are hundreds of different chemo treatments, and they each have their own advantages and disadvantages.
