The Kindle's popularity and sales are directly related to the point in time when it became a full functioning tablet, instead of just an e-reader. That's what people want, and that's the direction they'll take it.

Huh? Kindle Fire has been out for less than a year. They haven't introduced a 10 inch model yet. Let's look at market share next year and the year after and see.
