1st round of the US Open Cup is announced. Hoping with their depth Sporting makes a real serious run at the cup this year.
Sporting begins play in the 3rd round. Locally though K.C. Athletics (USASA) play at Real Colorado Foxes (PDL) Shea Stadium; Littleton, Colo. – 7:00 p.m. MT
A record 64 teams will take part in the 2012 Lamar Hunt US Open Cup this year, with a new format announced by the United States Soccer Federation. The 99th edition of the tournament will kick off on May 15, and below is the list of all the teams that have qualified so far:
Major League Soccer (Division 1 – 16 teams)
All 16 US-based MLS teams automatically qualify and will begin play in Round 3 (May 29)
