If the gun is used, you should also ask him what his maintenance schedule is, whether he has attempted to work on the trigger (you don't want him to), and what lower parts kit he used.
Other useful questions:
does the rifle have a forward assist? m4 feed ramps? f-marked front sight, if it has a front sight? does the rifle come with sights? is the buffer tube mil-spec or commercial threads? is the lower made out of 7075-t6?
