What is the difference between a buying a used game, or a rental & buying a brand new game? It's still a new game to the system regardless if it's new, used, borrowed, or rented.

Going off the quote here - he said that the same restrictions you have now will be the same restrictions you have on the Xbox One. The restrictions that are in place for the 360 (and I assume PS3) are that in order to play the game on a console, the disc has to be in the tray of the console you are playing it on, regardless if you download it to the HD. If you buy one copy, you can't play it on multiple consoles at the same time unless you have purchased 2 copies, etc.

My assumption on the difference between the 360 & One is that on One you can save it to the HD to a certain console and it validates it and you can play without the disc. But, if you wanted to play it on a second console (friends, etc) then you would have to have the disc with you. You can still play it just as you do now wherever you are.

So basically, renting a game or buying a game will not change the way you play. You can still play the full game while you have the copy. But, what sounds to be a cool addition, once you've returned the game if you decide you want to buy it, you simply "activate" it in some way and it's yours - without the disc itself.

I'm expecting them to give you X amount of cloud space and if you want more, you'll pay for it because it sounds like in order to play a game - even a rental or just a game that a friend brought over - you'll have to save it to either your HD or cloud.

That's my interpretation of it at least.
