I swear, Wil Myers is the most over-rated prospect since Clint Hurdle. Everybody thinks he is going to be the next Mike Trout. He's not. If he were half as good as everybody thinks he is, he wouldn't be starting 2013 in the minor leagues.
For the record, I would have preferred the Royals keep him. But trading him and Odo for Shields and Davis is a trade I'd make every day of the week, Rany's objections notwithstanding.

The best comp I can think of for Wil Myers is Jay Bruce. I have called him Ryan Braun-lite for quite a while, and that made sense until his K rate rose so dramatically.
With Myers King as much as it looks like he will, I think it's unlikely he hits for a consistently high average like Ryan Braun (.320+). I'm sure he'll have some .300 seasons, but he just strikes out too much for me to think he's more than a .275ish lifetime hitter.
He's not Bryce Harper. He's not Mike Trout. He's not even Oscar Taveras (who profiles for similar power with much better average).
