I shave some septic pencil into dust and make it into a paste and have it standing by on a Band-Aid. From there I mark the base with a surgical pen. After that I tie it off with some boiled floss. And last, I snip them with scissors at the pen-line.

Just cover it (quickly) and forget it... Done, hardly any pain!
