I also live in bear country and know that the wind is always blowing in the mountains. If you have a headwind and let the spray go, you're screwed. I have a couple cans of bear spray, but don't trust it after having a can explode on me when I was riding last year you can keep your spray, I'll stick to my 45-70 and my S & W 500. |
I live in the heart of grizzly country and all the rangers carry bear spray and guess what, all the tourists do too and for a very good reason, it works. They don't hand out guns at the national parks in case you come up on a grizzly, they hand out bear spray. Headwind or not, its your best chance...
