Abrams movies are flashy and witty so they're popular.

They're not as good as the old cast, sorry...not from a storytelling standpoint....and not when all they do is rip them off at key points in the story.

Better than Insurrection and Nemesis, sure....not better than First Contact or even Generations...and far below II, III, IV and VI.
