Twenty five years ago those same people were probably lauding the "Greed is Good" speech (yes, I'm aware of the temporal irony ITT, others); ten years ago they probably loved Fight Club for the fight scenes and Patrick Bateman for the pithy quotes (I know you're in on the joke LACF).
