Eh, getting favorable down and distance situations will win you a lot of games. Most quarterbacks simply don't deal with 3rd and long very well.

A 2 down player won't win you a SB, but he may do a fair amount to get you there. There are only a few guys out there that can routinely drag their offense out of 3rd and long so a player that's instrumental in setting those up is pretty valuable.
